Why you may need to clear your cache

The cache is a storage tool used by Google Chrome to speed up the page loading process. When a website like Murj is updated, the stored cache can sometimes interfere with the browser's ability to display the most current content. Clearing your cache will often resolve this issue.

Read on for step-by-step instructions to clear your entire cache, or use a shortcut to refresh a single page.

To clear your entire cache in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser.

  2. Click the vertical ellipsis menu, located in the top-right corner of the window, then select Delete Browsing Data.

  3. At the top of the displayed options box, select how far back you’d like to delete your cache.

Clearing Last 24 hours should resolve most issues. For a complete cache reset, click the More dropdown and choose All time.

  4. Make sure the Cached images and files checkbox is selected. You can uncheck other items like Browsing history or Cookies and other site data to avoid deleting unnecessary data.

  5. Next, click the blue Delete data button in the bottom right corner of the options box.

  6. Log out of Murj and close your browser. Reopen Google Chrome, log in to Murj, and you're all set!

Heads up

Remember, after clearing your cache, the first few times you visit a website (including Murj), the loading time might be slightly slower than usual. This is normal. Future visits will return to the expected speed as your browser redownloads necessary files, images and scripts.

To clear the cache for a single webpage, use this shortcut:

Instead of clearing your entire cache, you can use a keyboard shortcut. This maintains faster loading speeds for other websites because your system keeps the stored, frequently used data.

While viewing the Murj platform, use cmd + shift + R (Mac) or ctrl + shift + R (PC). This forces a hard refresh of the browser's cache for only the current page, fetching the latest content directly from the server.
